OPERATING PRINCIPLE

A distinctive feature of liquid ring (liquid ring) vacuum pumps is that compression gas in them is carried out by a liquid ring, which is driven by a blade impeller, eccentrically located in the housing.
Before starting, the pump is filled with liquid up to the axis. When rotating the impeller, the liquid is thrown by the blades to the casing, and between the impeller hub and the liquid the ring forms a sickle-shaped space, divided by the impeller blades into working cells, the volume which varies depending on the angle of rotation of the impeller. At the angle of rotation of the impeller, at which the volume of the working cells increases, they are connected to the suction window and through it they are filled pumped gas. When the volume of the working cell reaches its maximum, it is disconnected from the suction port. When With further rotation of the impeller, the volume of the working cell decreases, and gas is compressed in it. On at a certain angle of rotation, the working cell is connected to the discharge port, and the gas due to the the volume of the working cell is pushed out through the discharge port into the discharge nozzle.
Drive unit liquid ring pump is carried out directly from the electric motor. The motor shaft is connected to pump shaft through an elastic coupling. Since gas is compressed by a liquid, in a vacuum liquid ring pump there is good heat exchange between the gas and liquid to be compressed, and most of the heat of compression is removed from gas. In order to keep the temperature of the liquid ring stable, new portions are constantly introduced cold liquid. Excess fluid is drained from the liquid ring through the discharge port and delivery line to the liquid separator.
