Lobe pumps are used to transfer viscous and thick liquids that are sensitive to compression and contain solid particles (such as cherries and olives). Smooth pumping minimises damage to the product. Lobe pumps are widely used in the food industry for pumping pastes, ketchups, sour cream, tomatoes, yoghurts, jams and ice cream; in the pharmaceutical industry – for pumping creams, ointments, gels and syrups. The specified applications (liquids) must be compatible with the material of the pump’s flow path.
