Purpose of cantilever centrifugal pumps
Pump type K designed to work in stationary conditions for pumping clean water (except sea water) with pH 6...9, temperatures from 0 °С to plus 85 °С and other liquids similar to pure water by density, viscosity and chemical activity, containing solid inclusions up to 0.2 mm in size, volume concentration of which does not exceed 0.1%. The pump shaft is sealed with a single gland. Material parts of the flow path - gray cast iron.
The principle of operation of the cantilever pump type K
The cantilever pump is a typical type of centrifugal pump, the working element of which is a centrifugal wheel.
The centrifugal impeller of the pump consists of two discs, between which, connecting them in a single structure, there are blades smoothly curved in the direction opposite to the direction of rotation wheels. When the impeller of the centrifugal pump rotates, for each particle of liquid inside the impeller, centrifugal force acts, which is directly proportional to the distance of the particle from the center of the wheel and the square of the angular wheel speed.
Under the action of this force, the liquid is thrown into the pressure pipe of the pump from the impeller, as a result of which a vacuum is created in the center of the wheel, and an increased pressure.The movement of liquid along the suction line of the pump occurs due to the pressure difference above the free surface of the liquid in the receiving tank and in the central area of the pump impeller, where there is under pressure.
In pumps of type K, the supply of torque from the motor shaft to the pump shaft occurs through an elastic coupling. In pumps of the KM type, the impeller is installed at the end of the elongated shaft electric motor.Purpose and technical characteristics of pumping parts K and KM are identical, while pumping units of type KM have smaller overall dimensions and weight.
