Rotary vane vacuum pumps are designed for pumping from sealed volumes of various capacities, for example: tanks, barrels, cylinders, vessels, all kinds of technological devices - air and gases, as well as vapors and gas-vapor mixtures, fire-explosion-proof and non-aggressive to construction materials and working fluid (VM oil).

For normal operation of NVR pumps, it is necessary to preliminarily clean the air and vapor-gas mixtures from abrasive dust, humidified air (over 60%), as well as mechanical impurities. The vacuum created by the pump is in the range from atmospheric pressure to a depth of discharge of 5x10-3 mm Hg. (using VM-1 oil). The pump is manufactured in climatic version UHL (category 2,3,4) and can operate at ambient pressure from 630 to 900 mm Hg.
For stable operation of the pump, the temperature of the pumped medium should not exceed 40 °C. As a rule, electric motors are installed at 380V, three phases, with a frequency of 50Hz. If necessary, a complete set with a single-phase electric motor 220V is possible. Each modification of the pump has its own motor power in the range from 0.25 kW to 3.0 kW. The main parameters of the pump are the speed and vacuum depth, which are incorporated in the design of the pump, however, they may vary depending on the brand of oil used (VM-1, VM-4). For the operating mode in the zone of nominal characteristics, as a rule, VM-4 oil is used. To achieve a deeper vacuum VM-1.
The pumps have a long service life before overhaul, which during operation, according to the requirements of technical documentation and regular oil changes, reaches up to 15,000 hours. The design is very reliable and durable, therefore, it allows regular preventive maintenance, which significantly extends the pumps' performance. The scope of use of vacuum rotary vane pumps is extensive. Many industries that require evacuation during equipment operation, the creation of new materials, the production of parts and products use HBP pumps.
