Screw pumps made of stainless steel
Hygienic screw pumps are specially designed for use in the food, cosmetics and beverage industries. The pumps have a simple design, which greatly simplifies their cleaning. All metal parts in contact with the pumped product are made of SS304 /SS316 stainless steel. To transport materials with high viscosity, pumps with a wide loading funnel have been developed.
Operating principle of screw pumps for the food industry
The operation of screw pumps is based on the rotation of the rotor in the screw stator. The pump rotor is machined from stainless or hardened steel, and the stator is formed from an elastic elastomer. The shape and dimensions of these parts are selected in such a way that when the rotor is inserted into the stator, a chain of waterproof cells is formed (like a honeycomb). When the rotor rotates inside the stator, these “honeycombs” move in a spiral along the axis of the pump and without any changes in shape or content in the fluid structure. This process moves the working mass through the pump from inlet to outlet.
