Activated alumina

Activated alumina is a white porous material used for adsorption. It is delivered as spherical particles and has no smell, taste or toxic emissions. Also, activated alumina is not soluble in water, alcohol, ether or other organic chemical solvents. The material does not soften in water, which allows it to retain its properties, do not crumble and do not wear out for a long service life.
Areas of use of activated alumina
Most often, activated alumina is used to purify water from a variety of chemical pollutants. Treatment with this material allows you to remove arsenic or fluoride particles from drinking water and bring the liquid to an acceptable appearance for consumption. Alumina is supplied in the form of balls with a fairly large surface area. Such physical properties can increase the resistance to deformation and ensure maximum efficiency during adsorption.
In fact, the proportion of fluoride in drinking water depends on filling the filter with alumina. Partially activated alumina allows you to purify liquids from other chemicals, such as chlorine. It is possible to use the material to produce hydrogen peroxide.
Advantages of using activated alumina
The method of water purification using fill filters has many advantages, which vary depending on what material is used for processing. When using activated alumina to filter water, it is best to reduce the level of fluoride in the liquid. However, alumina is not the only way to get improved drinking water. There are many other options that differ in their efficiency and reliability. Activated alumina is widely used for water purification due to its advantages such as:
- Increased physical resistance to crushing and cracking.
- Increased adsorption capabilities.
- Low bulk density.
- High terms of use without loss of efficiency.
- No dust.
- Loyal price to the user.
And the main advantage of using activated alumina is the fact that water that has been treated with this material can meet the sanitary standards of drinking water, which are regulated by the laws of Ukraine.
