IRG, BGL, BGW Series Cast Iron Dry Rotor Pumps | page: 54
Dry rotor pumps of the IRG series - vertical single-stage centrifugal pumps with nozzles "In-line". This design of these pumps makes them more resistant to mechanical inclusions in the pumped liquid in comparison with similar pumps with a "wet" rotor. Their universal design ("in-line") allows quick dismantling of the pump from the pipeline without dismantling the system elements pipeline.
Characteristic
- Pumps with dry rotor made of cast iron IRG have a vertically located electric motor, and the suction and pressure nozzles are located on the same axis, which allows them to be installed directly on the pipeline (in-line); the pumps have compact dimensions, do not take up much space and can be installed outdoors (under a canopy);
- Impeller for dry pumps the IRG rotor is located directly on the extended motor shaft, so that the pumps run quietly without creating high vibration, and the pump casing is connected to the motor in such a way that can significantly reduce axial pressure during pump operation;
- For pump shaft seal a mechanical seal or a combination of different seals is used; in addition, a titanium alloy of which a seal is manufactured, extending the service life of the pumps.
Features of pumps
In a dry rotor, the pumping part with the impeller has direct contact with the pumped medium. And the motor separated from the pumping part by a rotating shaft and a sliding mechanical seal. Sliding mechanical seal is a dynamic seal and is used to seal the gap between the rotating pump shaft and its body.
