Self-priming centrifgual pump
Self-priming water pumps - one of the types of pumping equipment that is used for pumping liquid from wells, wells, ponds, lakes no more than 8-9 meters deep. They are used for domestic and industrial needs, in automatic watering systems for private properties, as well as in the work of housing and communal services companies for the purpose of distilling wastewater.
Design features
In accordance with GOST 17398-72, this category of pumping equipment includes models that ensure self-filling of the supply pipeline with water. A household self-priming pump has two main structural elements:
- Working chamber. Includes a pumping element in the form of moving wheels equipped with blades. It creates a zone of low pressure and stimulates the rise of fluid.
- Electric motor. Its shafts are mated with the shafts of the device through a special coupling. Thanks to the seal, water does not penetrate into the electrical zone of the equipment.

A thoughtful design allows air to be removed without human assistance. There is a plunger located in the upper half of the working compartment; air escapes through it. Its return is prevented by a check valve. Modern water pumps are equipped with built-in valves and perform refilling independently, which eliminates periodic monitoring of the operation of the device.
