Mechanical seals for household pumps | page: 2

A mechanical seal is a sealing device of a pump between its casing and the shaft to separate the cavities of high and low pressure, made in the form of a friction pair of the end surfaces of two parts, one of which is fixed to the shaft, and the second in the pump casing.

The gap between them is minimal. One ring rotates and the other is stationary. Their lack of mutual mechanical influence reduces the likelihood of leaks and increases the reliability and service life of these seals. In addition, seals are used with great success at high pressures and temperatures with aggressive working environments. Today, mechanical seals are widely used in most models of modern pumps.

Advantages:

  • reliable shaft sealing;
  • reduction of operating costs;
  • elimination of additional finishing of seal parts during installation;
  • ability to work in various environments, including aggressive and abrasive ones;
  • interchangeability with most domestic and imported seals.
