Pump part housing
Any pumping unit consists of the following components:
- Housings;
- Electric motor;
- Pump part;
- Check valve;
- Governing bodies.
The body of the water machine also serves as a chassis on which the remaining elements of the unit are mounted. It is the housing that takes on the entire load, and due to improper use it can fail.

The high pressure pump housing is most often used in centrifugal pumps that pump water from great depths. Such pumps are equipped with a multi-stage pumping part and are used in deep wells. High pressure pumps can also come in surface versions. Most often, the pump housing of these units is made of cast iron or carbon steel, and has a double-wall construction.
The pump housing for a pumping station can be:
- Plastic;
- Cast iron;
- Made from stainless steel.
Pumps with a plastic body are used in low-power pumping stations, while cast iron bodies are used in medium-power pumps. Stainless steel cases are considered the most durable and durable. The pumping station, made of stainless steel, can last for more than 10 years without any additional maintenance.
The housing of a centrifugal pump can be monolithic and serve as a chassis for all elements of the pumping device, but it can also be detachable. Monolithic, one-piece casing is used in submersible and deep-well pumps of various types, and split casings are used in pumping stations equipped with a centrifugal pump part. All the most important elements, such as an electric motor, a single-stage or multi-stage pump part, are mounted in the monolithic body of the centrifugal pump.
