Filter Media MBBR
MBBR Biofilm Carrier is a new bio-suspension carrier that has modified the polymetric material with the addition of a bio-enzyme adapted to all kinds of microorganisms for rapid growth and reproduction to dissolve organic matter in water.
The MBBR biofilm transfer process features high specific surface area, easy biofilm propagation, reluctance to fall off, high denitrification, good hydrophilicity, high biological activity, etc. It is widely used in MBBR BIOFILTER wastewater treatment, aquaculture farms, Koi filter media and etc.
Product Features
Self-cleaning through turbulence
Due to the turbulent movement of the biofilter in suspension, the filter material is self-cleaning and maintenance-free. This allows the filter to achieve optimum efficiency without disturbing periodic maintenance by avoiding unnecessary loss of bacteria within the filter. This ensures a consistently low ammonia and nitrite content in the water.
The first few of these products are similar to the patented Kaldnes filters used in fish farming and wastewater treatment. The design creates conditions for effective nitrification. The flow of water is created by aeration, which circulates the medium throughout the tank.
Such a high surface area of these products results in a small physical area required for a biofiltration plant. Thanks to the intensive mixing of the Caldnes-like medium, the medium is self-cleaning and maintenance-free with the aid of aeration. This allows the filter to achieve optimal efficiency. Periodic maintenance is not required, which prevents unnecessary loss of bacteria and subsequent splashes of ammonia and nitrite in the system. Required media volume
With good turbulence and aeration, 50 liters of medium is required to supply 0.25 kg to 0.75 kg of 40% protein food per day.
