The main purpose of this group of equipment is mixing liquids, suspensions, emulsions to achieve uniformity of the finished product. In addition, agitators are used to maintain the uniformity of ready-made suspensions and emulsions, preventing the product from delaminating or settling.
Also, agitators and mixers are used to improve the processes of heat exchange, mass transfer, for the circulation of various kinds of liquids in paint machines, heat exchangers, reactors, electroplating baths, etc.
By design, the following types of agitators and mixers are distinguished - blade, frame (anchor), milling, folding, propeller, turbine. According to the speed of rotation of the working body, mixing devices are conditionally divided into low-speed agitators (rotation speed up to 200 rpm). And high-speed mixers (rotation speed up to 1500 rpm).
The working body of the agitator can be made of stainless steel (AISI 304, AISI 316) or polypropylene (PP), PVDF, depending on the needs of the technological process.
